The Canadian GP sees Lewis Hamilton return to the podium for the first time since the season opener in Bahrain. The Briton has not had the best start to the campaign. He has struggled massively with the machinery provided to him.

He has only secured 2 podiums to his name, which, by his usual standards, is very low. However, this Sunday in Montreal was set to be Hamilton’s day as he drove a brilliant race to secure a P3 finish behind Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz.

Canada was where Lewis Hamilton registered his first-ever F1 win. The circuit came back to aid him, nearly 15 years on, in ending his podium drought this season. Hamilton had not seen the three steps ever since the opening race in Bahrain.

He drove a near-flawless race after surviving contact with Kevin Magnussen. Hamilton then got the jump on Fernando Alonso owing to a better strategy and virtual safety cars.

The fans went into a frenzy as they watched the 7-time world champion return to the podium. In the meantime, take a look at some crazy reactions from the fans.

Then there were the usual shouts of “GOAT” from all the Hamilton fanatics. And with a record like Lewis’, it’s hard to argue.

All in all, it was a stellar weekend for Lewis and his fans as it was a much-needed one. Lewis’ participation was initially doubtful in Montreal after he suffered severe porpoising in Baku. However, now he will be overjoyed to have made the recovery and secured the podium.

This gives Hamilton 77 points in the driver’s standing and a P6 spot behind teammate and compatriot George Russell. The next race in Silverstone will be Hamilton’s home race and the Briton will be hoping for another good showing.
