The return of the Australian Grand Prix this season is one of the most anticipated events in F1. From drivers to teams, to the organizers to the fans, everyone seem way too excited for the event. Among them is McLaren’s Lando Norris who seems to have enjoyed his stay in the country down under so far.

Interestingly, Australia is known as the land down under because it is located below the equator. The Albert Park circuit is all set to host the race after a gap of two years. The Melbourne venue last hosted the race back in 2019 when Mercedes managed to pull off a 1-2.

McLaren driver Lando Norris jumped in to entertain his fans by making his username upside down. The young Brit has reversed his Instagram handle and Twitter account’s name to emphasize “down under.” The fans noticed this and shared some screenshots of the same.

As for the event, in 2020 and 2021 the Australian Grand Prix was out of the F1 calendar due to the pandemic. As it is under some control now, F1 returns to host its third race of the year from April 8 to April 10.

What does it mean for Lando Norris to be in Land Down Under race?

Norris returns to take part in his second Australian GP event. Back in 2019, Lando made his debut with the Woking-based team. Coming here again after two years must be so emotional for him. Having started from P8, the 22-year-old finished in P12 while Valtteri Bottas went on to win the race.

Interestingly, this is Daniel Ricciardo’s home race. Lando’s teammate at McLaren will also have something to prove in front of his home crowd as he comes back after two years. The last time hasn’t been great for the Honeybadger as he had to retire following the turn 1 incident right after the start.

Despite the big names involved like Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo, McLaren is in big trouble. Despite finishing last year in P4, the British team had the worst possible start to their campaign in recent times. After two races, McLaren has picked up just six points. It’ll be interesting to see if one of the most successful teams in F1 can finally make amends in the land down under event.
