Earlier this month, prior to the Miami GP weekend, after weeks of speculation and rumors, Adrian Newey’s Red Bull exit was confirmed. It was announced that Newey will no longer be working with the F1 team and will focus on the RB17 hypercar before he makes his exit in Q1 of 2025. And now, Newey has come out to slam Red Bull for not involving him in strategic decisions at the Miami GP. Let’s see what he had to say.

Adrian Newey didn’t expect his exit news to become such big headlines. And it was only after the exit was made official that he realized how much it was going to affect him. Despite knowing that he wouldn’t be a part of the F1 team, racing, and car development, the mastermind felt left out when he was not involved in the decision on the F1 track by Red Bull, which he earlier used to be a part of. 

Explaining how he was not involved in the strategy decisions and was just in Miami for the press after his exit announcement, Adrian Newey spoke in Oyster Yachts YouTube video and said “The Miami Grand Prix itself was strange because I was there in the strategy function, hence being on the pit wall but I wasn’t involved in any of the strategy decisions or any of the engineering meetings. I was just being around for press basically. So not what gets me up”

Adrian Newey might not be the only senior member leaving Red Bull as Helmut Marko and Max Verstappen are both rumored to leave the Milton Keynes stable and join Mercedes. Regardless, these claims were rubbished by both Max Verstappen and Christian Horner

Christian Horner on Verstappen’s Exit rumors: “Max is very happy in the team”

Max Verstappen’s Red Bull exit has been rumored for over a couple of months now, but still, there’s no movement from the Dutchman. Verstappen himself suggested that money isn’t a factor for him, amid Wolff’s reported $160 Mn offer, and that having a fast car and a great environment is all that matters. Christian Horner has now come out to block the exit claims as he explained how the 3X champ is content with the team.

Christian Horner said, “You report those rumblings every week but he’s still here. Look, Max is very happy in the team, he’s got a wonderful group of engineers around him, he’s got a great car, he’s in the best car on the grid, he’s driving in the form of his life. It’s not about contracts, it’s about being content, and I think that’s the same for any driver. He has that, he has that dynamic around him, and I think what you’re seeing with him is a driver that’s reveling in that environment.”
