Lewis Hamilton likes to take a stand against most injustices in the world. The Briton is an activist and often uses his massive platform for good. This is exactly why PETA is reaching out to Hamilton to get one of their agenda regarding dog racing across to F1 owners. As of yet, The Mercedes driver has made no statements to support PETA’s agenda. The NPO is probably looking to invoke a similar response from Hamilton he made against the Spanish bull-fighting tradition.

The Briton, back in 2020, made public outcries about George Floyd’s death and the removal of statues of slave owners in Britain. One more issue Hamilton spoke about was the bullfighting tradition. As reported by MARCA, the Brit shared a post from PETA’s official page on his Instagram story with a message.

The message read, “This is truly disgusting, Spain! Kids in Spain are taught to torture and kill bulls-starting at age 14. We’re asking Spain’s Ministry of Education to close bullfighting schools, immediately! You can help by sharing the petition.”

Hamilton has always been an animal rights advocate. This statement against bullfighting is just one such example. This is arguably what PETA is hoping Hamilton would do for them again. However, there has been no official statement from the Briton yet.

Regardless, the animal rights organization is not taking no for an answer. They did their part, even on Hamilton’s birthday.

Is PETA close to crossing a line with the gift they sent Lewis Hamilton on his birthday?

PETA has been urging Hamilton to speak up against Iditarod, a 1000-mile extreme weather dog race claiming multiple dog lives. PETA’s first public attempt came as an open letter to Hamilton with a mention of Roscoe.

PETA’s official Twitter page reiterated the point on his birthday. They wrote, “One word from vegan F1 champion Sir @LewisHamilton could stop #Formula1 owner, Liberty Media, from funding the deadly #Iditarod dog race. We sent him a megaphone for his birthday to inspire him to speak up for the “underdogs” forced to pull sleds in the freezing snow!”
