Ayrton Senna is one of the greatest drivers to ever grace the sport. The Brazilian was a charismatic and exceptionally talented driver that was taken away too soon. He started his last race in the 1994 San Marino GP held in Imola. His tragic passing away during that race saw the entire racing world mourn. Now in the corner, where Senna lost his life, sits a heartwarming gesture for the late racing legend in the form of a statue.

The Ayrton Senna Statue at Tamburello
The brilliant Brazilian was racing in Imola when he lost control of his car in the 7th lap of the race. Senna’s car went straight into the wall at 130+ mph. After unsuccessful attempts to save his life, he was declared dead. However, as a tribute to the late legend, a statue of Senna has been installed at the very corner he crashed in 1994.

F1 will race in Imola once again this weekend in the Emilia Romagna GP.

This is a befitting tribute to the late Lotus, McLaren, and Williams driver whose talent and blistering pace lit up the world of F1.
Ayrton Senna and his everlasting legacy
Ayrton Senna is one of the greatest names in F1. The 3-time world champion is, to this date, considered the greatest driver in the sport by many, ahead of Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. Senna won all 3 of his titles during his time at McLaren.

He also has 41 wins and 80 podiums to his name. Throughout his career, he was known for his blistering pace and his tally of 65 pole positions was the most, up until 2006. His rivalry with then-McLaren teammate Alain Prost shaped an entire era of F1. However, his untimely passing away always posed the question of what could have been if Senna continued in the sport.
