Back until 2017, Formula 1 used to have women on the grid known as “grid girls”. But when Liberty Media came into power, they 1 scraped the idea of girls on the grid in 2018 once and for all. However, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel were in favor of the whole concept. So was Charles Leclerc, but he had one fear in his heart.

It was the fear of his girlfriend. The Monegasque was in a relationship at the time while driving for Sauber. So during an interview ahead of the 2018 Monaco Grand Prix, the Monegasque gave a hilarious reply.

First, let’s look at what the veterans had to say when they were told the organizers of the Grand Prix wanted to use grid girls for the weekend.

Hamilton said, “I think women are the most beautiful thing in the world so..”

The retired German, Sebastian Vettel, harmonized with Hamilton. He said, “I agree with Lewis, I like women, I think they look beautiful.”

However, the most hilarious and honest answer came from Leclerc. He said, “I think it was quite positive to have some girls on the grid, to be honest. Even though I have a girlfriend so, I should not say that. Maybe I will get in trouble.”

When Vettel pointed out she was not there, a scared Leclerc said, “She’ll probably hear it, anyway.”

Leclerc clearly didn’t want to get in any trouble with his girlfriend there. However, this is not the only occasion Leclerc would have gotten in trouble with his girlfriend.

The Monegasque started dating Charlotte Sine in 2019. However, the Monegasque has the same dynamic with Sine as he had with his previous girlfriend, as revealed by Pierre Gasly.

The two have spent a lot of time together and when it came to skydiving, Gasly revealed an interesting story. “He (Charles Leclerc) is very into like flying. And same thing, I am very attracted by skydiving. I was having a conversation, but his girlfriend was clearly not buying what I was selling to Charles.”

“But I’ll try again. The girlfriend is always the boss,” said Gasly.
