Max Verstappen is well on course to pick up his second championship trophy at the end of the current season. The Flying Dutchman has been absolutely phenomenal this year with consistent wins, despite starting from the midfield a couple of times. Taking a deeper look at his 2022 title run, it seems that the Red Bull man matured immensely because of the last season.

The 2021 season had one of the most dramatic and epic season finales in the sport’s history. Events of the last season affected the masses and definitely changed everyone involved to a certain degree. The previous statement is being proven by Verstappen in the current season.

The Red Bull man has matured ten folds and has become much more relaxed after winning his first championship. Verstappen might’ve matured so much that he is already thinking about life after Formula 1.

When asked if he sees himself as a father, the Dutchman had an interesting answer. He said, “Yes, I see myself as dad. One day. The Dutchman has visibly changed on track from the previous season. Verstappen is arguably less aggressive and even backs out of on-track challenges to look at the bigger picture, a race win. The driving style has also changed partly due to the new cars which have made overtaking relatively easier.

Winning the title has changed a lot of things in Verstappen’s life, but he still craves the winning feeling because “winning is never enough.” However, with his future certain till 2028, Verstappen is not ruling anything out.

The Dutchman has received one of the most lucrative and one of the longest contracts in the sport’s history. The current contract with Red Bull will keep him at the team until the 2028 season.

However, the Dutchman is not ruling out a change in scenario after this contract expires. When asked if he sees himself driving for Ferrari in the future, he gave quite a cryptic reply.

“Never say never, but now I have a contract with Red Bull until 2028. I’m fine here, let’s see what happens after 2028. Maybe I’ll have already retired,” revealed Verstappen.
