F1 fans had a ball last year when 5 F1 drivers were featured in a video for Vanity Fair’s YouTube channel. All of them had unique outfits on, as they answered 7 racing questions. One of those drivers was George Russell. Vanity Fair also has innumerable ‘Lie Detector Test’ videos featuring global celebrities. Now, Sky Sports has adopted that Lie detector test, and the latest video features George Russell.

Sky Sports F1 made their own Lie Detector and George was welcomed to “Interrogation Room 1” to take part in the same. A former LAPD officer was monitoring the Lie Detector machine, as his partner asked the questions. While overall, it is a very entertaining video, a particular answer by Russell did not go down well with Lewis Hamilton fans.

There were a bunch of questions concerning Hamilton. And none of the answers to those questions troubled any fans. But there was one question-answer pair that stood out. The interrogator asked Russell if he thought he was faster than Lewis Hamilton. All humbleness was thrown out the window as Russell replied: “Now, yes.”

Lewis Hamilton’s Fans Keep George Russell Grounded

It was great to see Russell be a part of pop culture. But it took just one answer in the Sky Sports Lie Detector Test for things to go wrong. Russell’s answer did not age well as he went over a curb and crashed in Lap 12 of the Canadian GP. And he eventually retired in Lap 55 of the race. To add salt to his wounds, Hamilton outperformed him and secured a podium.

Taking that as an example, fans trolled him for an answer that “Didn’t age well”.

Even though Russell found some supporters in the comments, most of them mocked his recent performances. After the Canadian GP, he sits at P6 in the WDC, with 65 points while Hamilton is at P4, with 102 points.
