The dial features the prancing horse shield at nine o’clock and a replica of Schumacher’s race helmet at three, surrounded by seven FIA globe emblems representing his seven F1 driver’s World Championship victories.

The story behind the F.P. Journe ‘Vagabondage’ wristwatch is quite intriguing. It traces back to as early as 1997 when François-Paul Journe created a one-of-a-kind automatic wristwatch known as the ‘Carpe Diem’. This unique timepiece featured wandering jump-hours around a central visible balance, showcasing Journe’s innovative approach to watchmaking. However, the pivotal moment that led to the production of a series of similar watches came in 2003.

Journe received a special request to craft a unique timepiece to be auctioned for the benefit of the ICM Foundation. Embracing the concept of the wandering hours’ display, Journe rechristened the watch as the ‘Vagabondage’ as a tribute to this distinct feature. This watch, given its uniqueness and rich history, is anticipated to fetch approximately $1.1 million at auction.

The second notable watch that goes on sale is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph, which is also a unique piece that came from Todt and holds a special place in Schumacher’s collection.

The dial of the watch features Ferrari’s iconic prancing horse emblem on the subsidiary seconds dial, symbolizing Schumacher’s affiliation with the Scuderia. Additionally, the numeral ‘1’ in the 30-minute register dial is surrounded by six stars, representing each of Schumacher’s six World Championship victories between 1994 and 2003. Another striking detail is the portrayal of Schumacher’s distinctive red racing helmet on the 12-hour register, adding a personal touch to the timepiece.
