The world’s most prestigious fashion event, Met Gala, happened recently. With rumors that Lewis Hamilton was to be dressed by African-American fashion stylist Law Roach; fans could not wait. The seven-time world champion, however, did not show up.

After a hiatus of two years, the gala event was reported to be back in full strength. Lewis is known for having a great sense of fashion, especially on Friday morning when he walks into the paddock. He is also known for using the platform for raising his voice when needed.

Lewis Hamilton doesn’t show up to the Met Gala

While Hamilton didn’t show up for the Met Gala, it seems like rap icon, Future was confused for Lewis. This caused some chaos on Twitter and hilarity ensued.

There is no doubt that journalists will be dying to ask Lewis Hamilton where he was when F1 goes racing in Miami for the first time. Up until now, there has been no statement from Lewis’s side regarding his absence.

While the Mercedes driver shows his immense skills on the track, off-track, he is trying to change people’s perception of fashion. “It’s a much different world naturally to F1,” he said. “F1’s obviously not focused on that and it’s obviously very corporate. There is no fashion, actually, in F1.” 

Hamilton said he loves an environment where he is allowed to express himself. He does that on a racetrack and he is free to do so. Even though he wasn’t at the Met Gala, rest assured he will make it up in Miami.
