Lewis Hamilton’s journey in Silverstone from 2008 to 2024

The year 2008 witnessed the uprising of a new beast in F1. It was Sir Lewis Hamilton. And it was the very same Silverstone circuit that declared the presence of a young man destined to be one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. Looking back 16 years from today, Hamilton won his first home race in 2008. The then-McLaren driver drove an outstanding race from ‘lights out,’ to the chequered flag. Lewis won at Silverstone in 2021 for the last. Since his outstanding P2 in today’s Qualifying, fans wish to see Hamilton with the winner’s trophy in his hands tomorrow. Given the level of pace and enhanced upgrades Mercedes has introduced for the British Grand Prix, it wouldn’t be surprising for the fans if Lewis successfully overtakes Russell to clinch P1 and continue with it till the very end.
