Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are arguably the two greatest drivers to grace the F1 Grid with 147 wins combined and 9 Titles in total. Yet the two share very different philosophies when it comes to driving. And it was very much visible during the 2021 season when the two went head to head for the title and Max Verstappen came out on top. Charles Leclerc shares valuable insights about both of them as he picks the more difficult challenger between the two. Who would he pick?

Charles Leclerc has beaten both Verstappen and Hamilton and was asked as to who is the more difficult driver to deal with. Leclerc advised that the 25-year-old and the 7X Champion have very different driving styles. The Monegasque added that he likes Verstappen’s approach as he is aggressive and pushes to the limit. Hamilton on the other hand is very clever and is always thinking two steps ahead.

According to @vetteleclerc’s Tweet, Charles Leclerc said “Both of them, they have completely different driving styles. Max always goes to the limit, I like his approach. He is aggressive and creates spectacular fights. Lewis on the other hand is very clever. In the way, he positions the car after a corner, for example. He is less aggressive but thinks more. If he doesn’t overtake you in one place, it’s because he’s thinking of an easier one in which to attack!”

Charles Leclerc didn’t really pick between Verstappen and Hamilton. But his comments suggest that he likes Verstappen’s approach while admiring Hamilton’s planning and plotting. Although, with a wet weekend prediction for the weekend in Spa, Charles Leclerc is more concerned about a big problem with F1.

Charles Leclerc advises that visibility in rain is a huge issue 

Earlier this month, Dilano Van ‘t Hoff lost his life while racing at Spa Francorchamps in FRECA. The conditions were torturous as it was raining cats and dogs. Charles Leclerc has now raised a safety concern regarding the visibility in the rain as the F1 weekend in Spa is said to be wet. The Monegasque suggests that visibility is so poor that the drivers cannot react to what’s happening in the front.

According to Motorsportweek.com, Charles Leclerc said “We are not exaggerating when we say we don’t see anything, we really don’t see anything when it’s raining. This is a really big problem for Formula 1, for motorsport in general. Any single-seaters, we have quite a bit of downforce and there is quite a lot of spray and then this causes quite a lot of incidents because we cannot react to what is in front.”

Leclerc may want to come out on top & perhaps outclass Hamilton atleast in the tricky conditions, if not Verstappen at the Belgian GP. Still, even if he gets to have a tussle with either of them, Charles would be quite happy, given Ferrari’s form.
