It might be Free Practice Friday, but we already have the winner of the Belgian GP! F1 Town is currently obsessing over videos of fans going into a frenzy over Oscar winner Brad Pitt soaring to victory at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Well, if this information is making you do a double-take, don’t worry. Pitt hasn’t flown in from Hollywood to take away the top spot at this weekend’s actual Belgian GP. He is just shooting for the F1-themed AppleTV movie that has Lewis Hamilton acting as one of its producers.

A few weeks ago in Silverstone, Hamilton had brought out numerous actors from the cast of ‘F1’ as they released a sneak peek into the movie. Now, Pitt, who will play one of the leads, has made a reappearance at the Belgian Grand Prix. The film will have Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a veteran F1 racer who comes out of retirement to join the APX GP team. Ahead of today’s FP2 session, the Spa-Francorchamps crowd found the ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’ star take to the race track in the APX GP car.

By the looks of the X video, Sonny Hayes will take part in the Belgian Grand Prix in a climactic moment in his movie. And then the fictional F1 driver will win the race too!

Lewis Hamilton makes a huge declaration about F1’s director Joseph Kosinski

Lewis Hamilton has been an integral part of the ‘F1 movie ever since AppleTV announced the project. The Brit has joined Brad Pitt as one of the producers and has revealed his job in it. As per the 7-time World Champion, he has tried to make the movie as authentic as possible by “calling on all the bs“. He even claimed to try merging his real-life experiences on the racetrack with the scenes of the movie because he wants “everyone to like it“.

Recently, Hamilton made an appearance on the YouTube video for the ‘First We Feast’ channel’s ‘Hot Ones’ segment. And when his conversation with the host led to talks on his upcoming movie, the Mercedes racer made a huge claim. He said, “I think if you go back to like Steve McQueen [actor and race driver in the 1950s], for example, back then they would have men laying on the front of the car with the camera, you know, or have a big camera on top of the helmet [to shoot the speeding racecars], where now we’ve got all this amazing new technology. So I feel like Joe [Joseph Kosinski, director, ed.], honestly, I think he’s going to blow people away.
