The Ferrari of Carlos Sainz was on fire at the Austrian Grand Prix. And sadly, we don’t mean it in a positive sense because Sainz’s F1-75 was literally on fire. Sainz was challenging Max Verstappen for second place until his engine failure forced him to retire. Apart from being disappointing, the incident was also quite dangerous for the Spaniard.

Sainz was stuck in a tricky situation because every time he tried to get out, the car rolled backward. The Ferrari man needed the steward’s help to get out of his car. However, the stewards in action are facing criticism for their response to the incident. And a track marshall penned down a response in defense.

He wrote, “Hey Everyone! Since I was on a post very close to where Carlos Sainz stopped. There are a few things I wanted to say:

“1st: Please stop praising the photographer for that picture. He was blocking the fire marshals and everyone else and had to be told twice to make way and leave the service road. “

“2nd: Please stop with the judgement of the fire extinguisher scene. There was something placed under the tyre to stop it and the car rolled over it. The marshal who came with the fire extinguisher got the order through the radio to get the car with the big extinguisher. If you watched the scene further, he was driving the big black Hillux.”

“Just so everyone knows. I don’t like what some people are writing since the man who is being criticized is one of the most experienced Marshals out there.”

The track marshall politely pointed out the details of the incidents hitting back at the criticism.

Carlos Sainz’s Austrian GP Engine failure was similar to Azerbaijan

Sainz’s engine troubles in Austrian are reminiscent of the Azerbaijan GP. The Ferrari man suffered a hydraulics issue in Baku and the Austrian GP incident is similar, according to the team boss Mattia Binotto.

Binotto told Corriere dello Sport, “It seems something very similar to what happened in Azerbaijan, in Maranello we are working hard to find a remedy.”
