Lewis Hamilton is undoubtedly one of the best drivers in the world. He has records like most wins, most podiums, and many more under his belt. It isn’t easy to beat Hamilton’s record. However, Daniel Ricciardo broke one of such records.

Aside from the on-grid F1 records, Hamilton had a record of the fastest lap time of 1:42.9 in a Suzuki Liana on the BBC show, Top Gear. The 37-year-old set this record back in 2013, and no was unable to break the record.

But in 2015, the former Red Bull driver Ricciardo broke this record, setting a new fastest lap time of 1:42.2 in the same Suzuki Liana. The BBC show is discontinued so that the Honey Badger will be the fastest on the show, and no one would be able to break it until the show continues again.

Ricciardo recently talked about this record at GQ when a fan asked about this record.

He said, “I broke the record for his lap time, this segment in the show. I believe it was a fairly long-standing record, and I think Hamilton had it for a few years. And it was actually a big moment. I was really proud. Then the show discontinued. I believe at least I’m the all-time winner who cannot be beat, and I’m proud. If I never win an F1 world title, I have this.”

Daniel Ricciardo set to break a record in the 2022 Spanish GP

The 2022 season hasn’t been very kind to the Australian driver. The McLaren duo has reported struggling with the 2022 challenger. Ricciardo so far has only finished top 10 once at his home race, the Australian GP.

But even in this turbulent season, Ricciardo is set to break a record of a great Australian driver. Former F1 driver Mark Webber is one of the most successful drivers in this sport. Further, he had 215 race starts in his glorious career, which Daniel matched in Miami. However, the McLaren driver will break this record in the upcoming Spanish GP.

Aside from breaking records, Ricciardo needs to pull up his socks. He is currently ranking P11 on the world championship standing. Meanwhile, his young McLaren teammate Lando Norris is ahead of him, standing P7 on the drivers’ standings.
