The whole world knows All Too Well that Taylor Swift is magic. Her concerts are magic. Her aura is magic, making witnessing her live performances one of the best life experiences any Swiftie could hope for. So when she announced the Eras Tour—”a journey through the musical eras of her career”—last November, the Ticketmaster website, where the tickets went up for sale, crashed when more than 14 million fans logged in to buy their chance to watch Miss Americana perform because it was only expecting around 2 million of them. That’s how much Swifties love her. And guess who’s a Swiftie we didn’t know was one? McLaren driver Lando Norris.

The 2023 Formula 1 season was leading up to what would’ve been a Cruel Summer Break for McLaren and Norris. But after the Woking squad’s mid-season turnaround, August might be more delicate and kind to them owing to their recent good form. To kick his summer break off in style, Norris accompanied Max Verstappen to join Dutch DJ Martin Garrix for one of his shows. After a fun time in the Netherlands, Norris retreated to the comfort of his home in England to do what he loves most—Twitch streams.

Taylor Swift’s name came up quite frequently in the F1 Paddock earlier this year, not because of how successful the Eras Tour has been, but because of her dating rumors with Fernando Alonso. Surprising, right? But what’s even more surprising was Norris’ confession on Twitch when asked if he’s a Swiftie. He said, “Am I a Taylor Swift fan? Who isn’t?”

To put into perspective how impactful her sixth concert tour has been for the global economy, the concerts were estimated to have boosted the world economy by $5 billion in June 2023, as per cbsnews.com. Considering she’s one of the best performers in the world and how beautiful her lyrics are, Norris would really be saying, ‘Don’t Blame Me for being a Swiftie.’ This wasn’t the first time he’s shown what a Swiftie he is, though.

Norris wished Piastri a happy birthday in the most Taylor Swift-fanatic way

Australian rookie Oscar Piastri joined McLaren this season as a 21-year-old. Seeing how he’s performed this year and his talent, McLaren proved it made the right call by fighting for him against Alpine last season. Apart from his mega performances, another good thing that’s come out of his being at McLaren has been his relationship with Norris. They quickly became good friends, which led Norris to wish Piastri a happy 22nd birthday in the most Swiftie way.

In a video the Brit posted on his story on Piastri’s birthday, the Aussie is seen walking into the garage, with Norris saying, “There he is, the birthday boy.” He captioned the video, “worst birthday cake ever for @oscarpiastri,” because the cake Piastri was greeted by looked anything but appetizing. Piastri took it in stride, though, and when Norris followed that video up with one where Piastri blew out his candles, he laid it over with Taylor Swift’s Red-album-hit 22.
