He has a knack for music and likes to create some from time to time. He’s now fully emersed in the entertainment industry as he is part of the mega F1 movie project. Last but not least, he’s a champion for diversity and is working actively towards combating it.

However, even with all these incredible attributes, the Mercedes man is sometimes accused of not being gentlemanly. This is exactly what happened during the Belgian GP after an Instagram post went viral. But now, hard-hitting evidence has come to light, putting the Brit in the clear.

The Brit has been accused of being too selfish and not kind toward women in the past as well. Hamilton received criticism for not being kind to ex-assistant Angela Cullen. However, now that Cullen is gone, Hamilton was seen making Charlotte Davies, Mercedes’ press officer, do his bidding, showcasing a non-chivalrous and ungentlemanly side of him. However, Kym Illman, who posted the photo which received scathing criticism, has cleared Hamilton of the accusations in his latest YouTube video.

Illman revealed almost 10% of his Instagram users commented on the post accusing Hamilton of “not being a gentleman“. After hilariously and sarcastically showcasing this is a common occurrence, he also showcased evidence of Hamilton holding the umbrella once in a while.

He then pointed out how none of the other drivers get the same hostile reception Hamilton does. Apart from other drivers in F1 being accompanied by an umbrella-yielding lady, Illman also gave examples from other sports with the same scenario.

With another hilarious piece of mockery, Illman finished his segment with a simple yet effective statement that might fend off the hate in the future.

After being propelled to the limelight from 2007 onwards, Hamilton has been at the center of a lot of unwanted attention. This attention has also not always been kind to him and he has received criticism for his activities off the track. However, 16 years later, the Brit has surely built a resistance to such comments from the general public. This is exactly what Illman pointed out, concluding his defense of Lewis Hamilton not holding his umbrella.

“I find the whole thing quite remarkable. I’m absolutely certain Lewis will have no idea about the comments being made on my page and nor would he be bothered by them if he did find out about them,” he concluded.
