Max Verstappen isn’t nicknamed ‘Super Max’ by the Orange Army just for the sake of it. The dominance that the 25-year-old has shown is worthy of that nickname. The level of skill that the Dutchman has is very hard to attain. Max Verstappen always accredits his dad, Jos Verstappen, for his racing skills and know-how. Jos knew what it took to get to the top of the racing world and that’s why the strict training regime for Max Verstappen was made. Jos even left Verstappen at a gas station once after a karting event. Some might call his behavior abusive.

However, in a recent podcast, Jaime Alguersuari, a former Toro Rosso driver, talks about how Jos Verstappen’s influence and Max’s perseverance is the reason why the 2X World Champion is unbeatable at the moment. The strict training program and dedication toward the never-ending regime paid off. Alguersuari even advised that Verstappen at the moment can beat Lewis Hamilton in an equal car.

According to the Sky Sports F1 podcast, Jaime Alguersuari said: “His dad had a huge influence on Max’s performance at the moment.” Then adding, “It was a never-ending training program. Testing testing racing and racing and never stopping doing that. So, yeah, like hands up, it worked. Nobody beats him. He’s in a state of flow and doing it easily. He’s not even pushing. Ofcourse the car is very quick. I’m very very sure if you put Lewis in this car or Fernando or whatever driver you want, I don’t think they will beat him.”
