Carlos Sainz, another gold enthusiast, found his face on the golf ball. Norris added a “bye Carlos!” before smacking the ball into the bushes. Carlos Sainz and the McLaren team

Sainz joined the team at a very crucial time in their rise to greatness. He even helped push McLaren to P3 on the constructors’ board in his final year. His time with the team went well beyond the walls of the paddock. Sainz even rendered a heartfelt thank you note to the team before the end of the season.

Addressing the team as his family, the Chilli said, “Since the first day I moved back to the UK, every single member of this enormous family made me feel at home. Some of you even helped me to find my flat and fill it in with stuff; showing already great signs of team spirit.”

To his best friend and teammate, Lando, Carlos said, “it’s also been a pleasure to work with you, my muppet friend! Let’s end it on a high!”

The team reciprocated their love for their driver. Multiple members of the Papaya team sent out a message to Ferrari and the Tifosi. What already starts off with an emotional Lando Norris only gets more heartfelt as various members of the team speak in Italian to the crowd in red.

The message went, “You were and you are among our oldest and fiercest rivals… So at this time of goodwill to all the people, we send you a gift. We have looked after it for two years. We looked after him and we helped him grow. Now it’s your turn. Take care of him, like we did.”

Back on the track this year, the former teammates soon found each other on top of the podium in Monaco. While the competition thrives on the race track, it’s great to see the two drivers are still the same off the track.

However, as the battle between the rival teams resumes in Belgium, will Norris help McLaren get ahead of the Scuderia, or will Sainz power through for a P3?
