The year 2021 saw the end of a short-lived era for Call of Duty Warzone’s beloved map, Verdansk. Since the debut of the original battle royale, the map’s notoriety grew amongst the community to such a level, that most still want it to get a revival in the future. However, as of now, it seems unlikely that fans would be getting their wish.

Interestingly, though, the recently introduced Vondel has changed the perception of many hardcore players who used to enjoy Verdansk. Now, it looks like this new battle royale region could prove to be the perfect alternative to the iconic map. There are multiple reasons to support this argument.

Vondel is probably better than Verdansk in Call of Duty Warzone
One thing that all the players will agree with is that as a map, Verdansk was not the ideal, go-to option. In fact, it had tons of problems and a lot of users complained about them more than two years ago.

In other words, they liked the map because of the movement mechanics present in the original Warzone; that’s a fact no one can deny. Consequentially, when someone says they want it back, they also want the movement from Warzone 1 too. Simply put, Verdansk, in its entirety, hasn’t been perfect by any means. Only after its removal, did Call of Duty players start to even miss it. It happened because of the introduction of multiple poor maps and then a degraded movement-based gameplay experience in the latest Warzone. This led to many people believing that Verdansk was a spotless diamond when, in fact, it wasn’t.

But now, it looks like a worthy successor to the ‘classic map’ has finally arrived after a long wait of nearly two years. Since its release last month, Vondel has impressed most of the players with its favorable design. Some of them have even mentioned that it oozes Verdansk vibes – especially when considering the number of rooftops. However, the Season 4 map offers a lot more than just the rooftops.

One basic reason why a lot of players are currently enjoying battle royale games in Vondel is that it is comparatively smaller in size. This means one can end up having a fast-paced experience. On the other hand, maps like Verdansk, and even the present region of Al Mazrah, are quite massive and make the overall match speed slower.

Due to Vondel, the Resurgence mode has also witnessed a newfound interest among users. Because of its slightly narrowed area, it allows for quicker encounters. It implies that most of the players will opt for this region to have fast-paced intensity throughout a match.

Another significant point that goes in favor of Vondel is that it’s situated in a busy metropolis, unlike Verdansk which was mostly made of vast grassy plains and open spaces in a rural setting.
The newest area provides ample opportunities for the players to explore places quite frequently while moving from one point to another through busy markets, cultural centers, and everyday structures.
