The Valorant community was left shell-shocked by the untimely passing away of a gem in the eSports scene. Team Vitality recently announced through their Twitter that their star player, Karel ‘Twisten’ Asenbrener, is no longer with us. Furthermore, his untimely death also caused a debate about the mental health of the players in the eSports community.

While the debate rages on, the Valorant community has shown solidarity and has come forward to honor the wish of the recently deceased player. With multiple members willing to donate to the charitable cause, the gesture warmed the hearts of many fans of the gaming circles.

Valorant community reignites the charity cause started by late player Twisten

During VCT LOCK//IN earlier, Team Vitality’s player Twisten announced a unique charitable run. This Czech duelist had pledged to donate €25, which is roughly $27, for every Shorty kill at the event. After his untimely death, the community wanted to pay tribute.

VCT commentator RyanCentral suggested the Valorant community should continue Twisten’s Shorty Kill charity in VCT Masters Tokyo. His idea has been widely accepted by fans and pro players alike. Sentinels’ content creator, Tarik, also agreed to participate in this idea along with many Valorant stars.

Shorty, however, is not the preferred choice of gun for many pro players in the VCTs. It is one of the five sidearms available in-game and is the cheapest one to buy. The Shorty is technically a pistol, but it functions more like a shotgun. It can deliver a lot of damage at close range but is weak at long range. Statistically, this gun only accounts for 0.6% of the total kills in high-level Radiant matches.
