The third edition of the critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate franchise has already been subjected to a lot of fan appreciation. But it’s not the only thing the game has made headlines for. The Dungeons & Dragons-inspired classic has been under the spotlight for scope for improvements and patch updates for a while now.

Considering the game was released at the beginning of August, it has been through a ‘patchy’ path in its short run. The Larian Studio developed the third chapter of the series and might be planning another patch update release. While fans had speculated the second patch update would be released soon, the latest tease by the developers has taken the community by surprise. The second major Baldur’s Gate 3 patch is almost on the cards.
“Patch 2 Just Around the Corner”: Baldur’s Gate 3 Developers Drop the Surprise!
Just a few days back, makers released the first patch update for Baldur’s Gate 3. However, a lot of criticism followed post the patch launch. Most of the fans called out Larian Studios for not addressing the major issues that the gameplay had.
Thus, a second patch update seemed to be in the plans. Well, who would have thought the plans were so imminent? Surprising the whole gaming community, Larian Studios announced a massive update on the next patch for the game.

According to the official statement made by the developers, Patch 2 is just around the corner. Moreover, the developers would be focusing on technical specifics that weren’t addressed in the first patch. This means Baldur’s Gate 3 players can expect major performance upgrades in the gameplay with the forthcoming fix. The devs also hinted at the introduction of some new tweaks and changes.

The angle of the “epilogue” might have been the highlight of the tease. The tweet immediately sparked a lot of speculation around the possible game expansion in the update. However, it might also be a hint of the makers restoring narrated epilogues that missed the final cut during the release.
A possible expansion?
Later on, Larian Studios’ director of publishing Michael Douse confirmed the size of the second patch as “equally chonky” as the first one. It is important to note there hasn’t been any official update on when the gamers can expect the launch. We will have to wait for the next update to understand more about the upcoming patch.
Not to forget with the PlayStation version of Baldur’s Gate 3 coming in the first week of September, Larian Studios wouldn’t want to take any chances. Hence, fans are looking forward to the next patch update, hoping for a new chapter in the D&D verse.
