The Holiday season is seeing a huge surge in the demand for PlayStation 5, and scalpers are getting the most out of it. Scalpers have started listing PS5 stocks online and the prices touch as high as £1000! This is double the original retail price of the console, which is £450, and by December 25 the prices these scalpers are setting might get higher.

Just 34 days before Christmas, scalpers are creating a huge problem in the market as they are re-selling the console at a higher price as players are scrambling to get hold of PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles.
Scalpers essentially buy out all the stocks of these consoles and sell them at a much higher price. This results in frustration amongst gamers because they are unable to get hold of these consoles.

As the holiday season is approaching, gamers all over the world have been trying to get hold of these next-gen consoles, and it is likely they will have to resort to scalpers’ products when the situation comes down to panic buying for Christmas.
Scalpers have also tried doing similar things with Switch OLED and the Xbox Series X-themed mini-fridge from Microsoft.
Re-Stock updates
Walmart might see a fresh PS5 restock on November 22 and it will start at 4 PM ET (3 PM CST/1 PM PDT). This is confirmed by the Walmart banner that says, “Early access coming soon! Walmart_ paid members can shop this item at 4 pm ET on 11/22, while supplies last!”
However, the catch here is that this deal is available only for Walmart+ members. This membership costs $13/month but does not guarantee to secure players a PS5 or Xbox console.
