The time is finally here when PlayStation 5 would get the attention it deserved from Sony’s first-party developers. With almost every single PlayStation Studio working on games exclusively for PS5, and with a bunch of console exclusives coming to it too, it can be hard for people to tell which one they are most excited about.

But it appears that there’s no need for them to choose. One group is for a bunch of games announced for PlayStation 5. And another is a group that consists of games that cannot even run on PlayStation 4 if their developers tried. Spider-Man 2 is one such game!
Spider-Man 2 would be the biggest PlayStation 5 launch of 2023!
Years ago Insomniac games developed Sunset Overdrive for Microsoft. It was a very funky parody of every other action zombie game that had been released before it. Some people called its writing cringe-worthy, others called it “different”, but everyone loved its gameplay.
Maybe Sunset Overdrive was what encouraged Sony. They approached Insomniac Games with the idea of working together on a Marvel project. They quickly chose Spider-Man and released the 2018 title.
The game did for Spider-Man games what the Arkham series of games did for Superhero games. It gave them the recognition they deserved. The swinging mechanics were perfect, its side-missions were not tedious and its story was actually miles better than expected.

Its standalone expansion Spider-Man: Miles Morales surprised the fans of the series by being better than the original game in every way. It was surprising because there were very few things that needed to be changed in the original. And yet it somehow felt better!
Then came that Sony PlayStation 5 showcases when Insomniac and Sony decided to tease the sequel. It showed Miles and Peter fighting a bunch of enemies while we hear a mysterious figure talking in the nearby alley.
The figure is none other than Venom. There was no date, there was no year, there was not even a window of release, yet fans went mad. Then there was news that the actor playing Harry Osborn in the upcoming Spider-Man 2 has been replaced by some other actor. He said that it was because Insomniac is creating a more photorealistic rendition of Spider-Man’s world. That required an actor who was more physically capable.
Then the actor who plays Venom in the upcoming game said that it would be crazier than the previous games. And now we have a confirmation that the game would be launching sometime during the spring of 2023.
There are also some rumors of the co-op!
There are also rumors of Spider-Man 2 having a co-op option, given the fact that both Spider-Men appears in this game at the same time. It cannot be ruled out either. Let’s not forget Insomniac’s history of Resistance 2 and 3. Those games had pretty robust couch co-op options too!

Going by what Insomniac games are capable of, it appears fans are in for one of the most stunning and exciting experiences ever. Hence, Spider-Man 2 is the most anticipated PlayStation 5 game of 2023. Only because there is no chance that Wolverine would be releasing anytime soon!
