Call of Duty franchise has been known as one of the most popular first-person-shooter IPs in the world. Since the reveal of the first game in this series, it has maintained this status for a long time. But adapting to changes is also necessary. Considering that, the makers eventually rolled out a never-seen-before third-person mode with last year’s premium entry Modern Warfare II. Subsequently, it was added to Warzone 2 battle royale as well.

Initially, there were speculations for 3rd person mode to fail in comparison to the first-person perspective. Surprisingly, though, it has turned out to be a breath of fresh air for players. Many Call of Duty fans have ended up liking this change. Especially when it comes to enjoying the Multiplayer experience. Warzone 2 also features a dedicated mode with the option of third person.

Is 3rd person mode still present in Call of Duty Modern Warfare II?
Sadly, the answer to this burning question is no. This gameplay mode was recently removed by the devs from MWII. To be precise, it’s nowhere to be seen in the installment since January 26th, 2023. Not only the Multiplayer setup, but Warzone 2 has also lost the 3rd person option for its battle royale playlist.

As expected, a lot of Call of Duty fans have been upset since the disappearance of the third-person-viewing option. While they can still have it through Private matches, the dedicated modes for Multiplayer and Warzone 2 are gone. At least that’s the situation as of now.

When will 3rd person mode come back to Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2?
Since there’s a format of rotating playlists in both MWII and Warzone 2, the mode might return with a future update in the coming days. Although that depends on the devs’ decision completely. If they want to add it back with a new playlist, it will be there for sure.

Or else, it might end up coming back with Season 2 next month. The major update is set to arrive on February 15th, 2023. It looks like the 3rd person mode will also be back on that day itself. Till then, players can only hope for it to be added sooner with a refreshed playlist.
