The renowned “Rainbow Six” franchise is finally on track for its movie adaptation as the renowned director of the hit action movie franchise starring Keanu Reeves, signs up for the project. According to recent reports, the movie will feature the beloved villain from Marvel’s first Black Panther movie.

The project was confirmed back in 2018, as there were reports that confirmed Paramount is working on two movies set in the “Rainbow Six” universe by Tom Clancy. The first movie was released back in 2021, named Without Remorse. The movie in discussion is reported to be the direct sequel to this.

Chad Stahelski joins Rainbow Six

The first movie featuring Michael B. Jordan was released on Amazon Prime Video service. Initially, Paramount planned to release the movie on the big screens, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the release was restricted. But according to reports, the sequel will get a theatrical release worldwide.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the director of the world-renowned John Wick movies, Chad Stahelski has signed up to helm the production of the next ‘Rainbow Six’ movie. Returning as the main protagonist, Michael B. Jordan is also confirmed for the sequel. The movie will be a direct follow-up of the story from the first movie.

“Without Remorse” was the origin story of the character John Clark. John Clark was a Navy SEAL-turned-CIA operative who appeared in two books by Tom Clancy. The second book, “Rainbow Six” spawned a large line of video games with the same name. The latest entry in the gaming series is Rainbow Six Extraction, released in 2022.

There are reports that Ubisoft is planning an Android and iOS version of the game. So far, the game is in the early beta phase, players can register on the official website to get a chance to play the game before the release.

No plot or release date has been announced for the movie. But the general belief is that the original books and the gaming series will heavily inspire the movie. Chad will executive produce the movie under his 87Eleven Entertainment productions.
