It is safe to say that the Renault F1 team are not enjoying themselves in the 2019 season. However, drivers, Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg are putting on brave faces to the media. The Australian, in his first season with Renault has also been using his trademark humour on occasion.

Following the Spanish GP practice sessions, where Daniel Ricciardo did not feature higher up in the order, he tried to laugh it off.

The reporter asked Ricciardo about his thoughts on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. She also harked back to winter testing, where Ricciardo was not so fond of the track. He jokingly said, “I hate this place”, before clarifying that he was joking.

Daniel Ricciardo then said that the team could have a run in Q3, before deciding to mess with the reporter again.
