Things are slowly taking a 180-degree turn for WWE. The internet is on fire right now due to the shocking departure of over 15 superstars. This is just days after the supposed iconic merger between WWE and UFC under Endeavor. But just when fans thought the drama couldn’t escalate further, a new report regarding Vince McMahon wanting out of WWE has come as a bombshell.

Recently, TKO dropped an update on McMahon’s desire to step away from WWE, adding more chaos to the landscape.

Vince McMahon to leave WWE?

The merger which kicked off on a positive note after the blockbuster return of Dwayne Johnson has only been going downhill ever since.

It hurts WWE’s reputation among fans when they unceremoniously kick out athletes because of internal budget cuts. But while that is a separate debate the latest buzz revolves around McMahon’s desire to step away from his own business. This could emerge as a setback for WWE.

According to AXIOS, TKO has registered all of McMahon’s shares for sale, enabling him to avoid a lockup period, hence giving him flexibility. The Executive Chairman currently holds $28.84 million TKO shares at a valuation of $3 billion.

This is truly eye-opening news, considering how vital the 78-year-old has been for WWE decision-making over the last few decades. While it’s sad news for some fans, it also appeased a few fans and wrestlers who have been wanting to have McMahon step back and let Triple H run the show. Regardless, the unfair nature of the recent WWE releases has caused an uproar among fans.

Releases keep the limelight on the unjust practices of WWE

Last week WWE released Frank Riddick after working with the company for over 15 years as a CFO. Fans couldn’t help but notice the bonuses he received among others, after attaining a sum over $5 million.

The WWE universe hence expressed their displeasure since the release of Dolph Ziggler didn’t have grounds as part of an internal cut as he was a workhorse for so many years. Moreover, WWE handing over lucrative bonuses to all the members of the board during a tumultuous time doesn’t play well.
