Let bygones be bygones. Or did better sense prevail? Perhaps realizing the futility of continuing their beef, both Joe Rogan and Oscar De La Hoya appear to have extended an olive branch. If De La Hoya’s latest Instagram Story is anything to go by, the two exchanged private messages that hint at a possible reconciliation and even a future appearance on Rogan’s iconic podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience.’ The show, where Rogan has hit milestone after milestone, remains one of the most-streamed platforms globally.

Meanwhile, steadily gaining traction in the boxing media space, De La Hoya found success with ‘Thursday Clap Back.’ Still, there’s been some lingering tension, especially on De La Hoya’s end. It seems he had long wanted to appear on ‘JRE,’ possibly to clear the air. In the past, Rogan had taken a few verbal jabs at him, sparking a back-and-forth. But now, judging by the direct messages De La Hoya revealed, those acrimonious vibes may finally be behind them.

A possible detente between Joe Rogan and Oscar De La Hoya

In the screenshot shared on De La Hoya’s Instagram Story, Rogan was seen apologizing if he had offended the boxing legend. “I’ve talked about you many times on the show, and I wish the conversation had steered more to you fighting, of which I was a huge fan,” he wrote.

The ‘JRE’ host added, “We were talking sh*t. And in response to the older text I missed, sure, I’d love to have you on my podcast.” And how did the Olympic gold medalist respond? Though he appreciated Rogan reaching out to him with an apology, the former world champion couldn’t entirely hide his frustration. “Look, bro, thank you for the apology and respect. But there’s no reason to bring up fishnets and fake abs. There’s so much good I’m doing in the sport, and you all ignore it,” De la Hoya said.

Still, he accepted the podcast invite and expressed genuine interest in having an open, unfiltered conversation. Framing it as a potentially iconic moment, De La Hoya added, “Let’s make history,” and promised to bring sharp insight, bold takes, and plenty of compelling stories to the episode.

The rift between a boxing icon and a popular MMA voice

Earlier, De La Hoya appeared to suggest that Rogan may have avoided him due to pressure from UFC president Dana White, his longtime adversary. The boxing legend publicly aired his disappointment over never being invited to ‘The Joe Rogan Experience,’ despite its regular focus on boxing and MMA.

So in a bold and provocative suggestion, De La Hoya even proposed a headline-making episode. It will feature himself, Dana White, and Rogan all at the table, with the latter moderating. “Let me propose something [and] this will be the highest-rated show you’ll ever do. Have me and your daddy, Dana, on the podcast together. You can moderate the podcast, so two against one. And I’m fine with that because I’m an open book,” he reportedly said.

Rogan, for his part, hasn’t always held back from needling De La Hoya. “You seen that? Oscar De La Hoya has got some fake abs. Something’s going on, man,” referencing the boxer’s seemingly enhanced physique, Rogan once joked in a past episode. Now, with both men hinting at reconciliation, fans could be in for a truly unforgettable episode. It will be packed with fight game legends, behind-the-scenes stories, and maybe even a few explosive moments.

What’s your take? If Oscar De La Hoya joins JRE, could Dana White be next? And could this finally bring their years-long feud to a close?
