The Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk undisputed fight almost did not happen because of Francis Ngannou! Nevertheless, after a split decision win in October, which people have labeled a robbery, ‘The Gypsy King’ is geared to take on ‘The Cat’ on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Fury’s heavyweight peer, Zhilei Zhang, has detailed the only way Fury could vanquish the unconquered Ukrainian.

The 40-year-old Chinaman has his own Everest to scale ahead on him on March 8 against Joseph Parker. But while appearing in an interview with Pro Boxing Fans, Zhang analyzed Fury’s past performance to predict an outcome for the future.

Zhilei Zhang points at the training camp

When probed by the reporter about his thoughts on the Fury vs. Usyk fight, Zhang claimed, “I think it all depends on what type of training camp they have and what type of preparation both of the fighters do in their training camp.” The WBO interim heavyweight champion suggested if Fury is preparing for the Usyk fight as he did for Ngannou, “it’s going to be a long night for Tyson.”

Conversely, if the 6’9” inch giant “trains hard and takes care of his life, take care of his routine – I think he’s got it,” said Zhang. Diverting his attention to Fury’s advantages, Zhang claims, “He’s taller, his reach is longer, and he’s more flexible…so I think in a perfect world, I’m leaning [toward] Tyson Fury to get the victory.” Meanwhile, Zhang isn’t alone in predicting the winner of the main card in ‘Ring of Fire.’

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury: The last undisputed heavyweight takes his pick

‘The Lion’ Lennox Lewis is the last undisputed champion in the heavyweight division – he achieved the status back in November 1999 by defeating Evander Holyfield. Since then, the feat has never been replicated. However, that will change soon when a victor rises in the fight between Fury and Usyk. So, as the last undisputed champion, Lewis had to reveal his pick between the two.

On January 16, the retired world champion turned to X (formerly Twitter), claiming, “For the record, I’m looking forward to welcoming Fury or Usyk to the Undisputed club.” He further explained his pleasure with the decision to have the fight that will make history. Followed by revealing his predictions, “A good big un’ beats a good little un’… Advantage Fury.”
