In the boxing world, where strategy commands attention, an unexpected subject seized the spotlight. In a recent Instagram post, Oscar De La Hoya danced along to a song with his girlfriend, Holly Sonders, sitting up front. The post from ‘The Golden Boy’ seemed to be about showing appreciation to Sonders for being in his life. But surprisingly, the spotlight went elsewhere as fans started reacting to Sonders’ face. What is drawing fans to Sonders’ face, and why are they calling her scary?

Oscar and Sonders officially began dating in November 2021, having met at a boxing match. The beautiful couple made several appearances together in media and on social media. But never before had this topic taken up so much traction. So, the question is, what went wrong this time? What is the boxing community saying about Sonders’ looks?

Comments from fans about Holly’s looks

Scrolling through the comments of the Instagram post, the topic in question is quite evident. Fans appear to be baffled by Sonders’ appearance in the video, sharing their thoughts in the comments.

Like this user commented, What’s up with her face?” And this wasn’t an unpopular opinion, as the comment received over 70 likes.

But it was not all bad. Some users showered the couple with some kind words. One of those comments read, “Don’t listen to the haters champ they just jealous and would never say it to you or her face in real life.”

Another supportive comment said, “People are so mean. It’s so sad, she’s human, she’s beautiful, & none of us know her like Oscar does, she obviously has a beautiful heart and that’s all that truly matters. I wish people on the Internet weren’t such bully’s!! I’m sure these words are so hurtful to her. Geez people! I’m sorry y’all have to go through all this hate.”

Dealing with so much negativity is not easy, but with his girlfriend’s name on the line, Oscar responded to some of the comments.

What did Oscar De La Hoya say about these comments?

Navigating stardom as a beloved celebrity or internet personality has its challenges, notably dealing with negative public opinions. No matter what someone does, there will always be people who will find something wrong with it. Nonetheless, Oscar did not expect such comments from his fans but responded to them.

In his initial response, he hinted that the comments were from paid bots. He said, “Wow, these bots are costing someone so much money.” In another, he said, “I cannot believe how many bots are on me and hate. It’s nuts. But life goes on.” Even Sonders commented on the post, seemingly ignoring all the hate. Her comment read, “Te Amo forever bubs!!! Creating new businesses, focusing on those who truly care about us, spreading happiness, and laughing and loving. I hope everyone can find this peace.”

Perhaps that is the way to tackle the issue, by avoiding them altogether. But are they all haters, or were they concerned about De La Hoya? What do you think?
