Yorkville, Illinois’ Trevor McCumby is back in the headlines, but for reasons even he might not have foreseen. The 32-year-old suffered his first career loss against former IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant on September 14 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga

While he put up quite the fight against Plant, dropping ‘Sweethands’ in the 4th round, he eventually succumbed to Plant’s skills in the 9th round after being backed into a corner. However, recently a viral social media clip surfaced, linking him to a shirtless man facing off against a group of policemen on the rooftop of a bar.

The incident happened at the Rodeo Fort Worth in Bledsoe St in Fort Worth, Texas on Tuesday morning. The clip initially started circulating on X when Dallas Texas TV shared it on the platform, but an individual named Diego Mayra, or DH on X, quickly suggested the shirtless man in the video was Trevor McCumby.

Mayra wrote, “Pugilist @T_RevMcCumby is captured on video in a wild scene that played out in Fort Worth-Dallas…” He further added that he reached out to McCumby for an official statement on the matter, but never received any response, which made it seem like the shirtless man could be McCumby.

However, the 32-year-old would soon respond. So, the only question left unanswered is, what did Trevor McCumby say? Was he the shirtless man on the roof of the Rodeo Fort Worth bar in Texas?

Trevor McCumby reveals the truth behind the viral clip

Soon after the clip started gaining some traction on X, McCumby responded to Mayra’s claim, stating he had gone berserk after taking some illegal substance, implying he indeed was the shirtless man on the roof squaring up to the cops. McCumby wrote, “I’ve totally gone unhinged, on m**h and went southpaw.”

This, of course, as you may have guessed, was sarcasm from the 32-year-old boxer. McCumby indirectly implied that he fights from an orthodox stance, whereas the man in the clip can be seen taking a southpaw stance. Meaning that Trevor McCumby was not the man in the clip, and Mayra’s claim was in fact incorrect.

Meanwhile, not much is known about the individual in the clip, but as time passes, more information is expected to flood the internet, revealing the true identity of the individual. Until then, what is your take on the entire debacle?
