Trevor McCumby’s upcoming fight could be a massive turning point in his career. He will be locking horns with the former super-middleweight champion Caleb Plant on the undercard of the Canelo Alvarez vs Edgar Berlanga main event. The 31-year-old Arizona-based fighter is relatively unknown in the professional boxing scene despite having an undefeated boxing record. A win against Plant would put the marker down and catapult him into more lucrative fights in the future.

Feeling seemingly confident ahead of the showdown, McCumby wants to make Plant “quit” in the ring. “There’s no animosity, but I am coming for your heart,”  McCumby stated in one of his media interviews. That being said, it is important to explore the relationship McCumby has with his wife and kids who have been providing him the much-needed motivation to turn up in the squared circle time and time again and continue his hunt for accolades in the brutal sport of boxing.

Who is Trevor McCumby’s wife? What does she do?

McCumby’s wife is his pillar of support as he continues on his quest to become a world champion. After the fight with Felipe Romero in 2018, McCumby was on a long four-year hiatus, and his return was stalled by a knee injury suffered in sparring. During his long break from boxing, he was working at a convenience store in Arizona, and meeting his then-girlfriend and now-wife Kenzie, at the non-denominational Christian church, The Rock, changed his perspective on life. In an interview with the International Brotherhood of Prizefighters, Trevor revealed that before meeting his wife he was not taking boxing “seriously”, and was more interested in “partying”. However, having a wife and kids does change your priorities. McCumby tied the knot with Kenzie in 2022, and ever since their marriage has been going strong.

“You’re an incredible husband, a one-in-a-million type of father, and I’m so blessed to call you mine. What a beautiful, wonderful, sweet year of being you wife. I love you more today than I did a year ago and I will love you more tomorrow than I did today,” she further added. Meanwhile, Trevor too never shies away from public displays of affection for his wife on social media. “Beautiful bonds. My beautiful wife, my covenant before God to love you forever, be selfless, love and care for you and our family. I love you and will never let you down,” Trevor wrote while posting a loved-up picture from their marriage ceremony.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Kenzie works as a coordinator at the Center for Dermatology & Plastic Surgery. Currently, Trevor and Kenie are ready to welcome another addition to the family besides their two little ones.

Trevor and Kenzie McCumby will have some busy months ahead

Trevor and Kenzie have been blessed with a 3-year-old son and a 1 ½-year-old daughter, and another child is due in November. The couple has always showered their kids with immense love. The latest to join the McCumby clan is their daughter, Murph, and the couple is quite cautious about her face being revealed to the public at large. Nevertheless, Kenzie posted quite a few pictures on the occasion of her first birthday. “One year with our Murph. Oh how I love watching her grow up. Happy Birthday to the Missy Girl,” she wrote as a caption accompanied by a series of photos where her face has been revealed.

With the third on the way, the couple will have their hands full, doting upon their lovely kids. Meanwhile, McCumby will be heading to battle in a couple of days against Caleb Plant. A win against ‘Sweethands’ could mean more lucrative cheques in the future, and the chance for McCumby to secure his family’s future.
