Such was the case for a boxer who tested positive for a banned substance last year. According to a tweet from Michael Benson, Kamil Sokolowski tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance last year. UKAD conducted these tests following his bout against Frazer Clarke, which he lost. Kamil even claimed he took some form of supplements, which he believes were laced with testosterone. As a result, a three-year-long ban from boxing is imposed on him by the authorities. But in a surprising turn of events, fans did not agree with the severity of the punishment.

After Benson broke the news on X (Twitter), fans went into a frenzy to express their discontent. But their discontent wasn’t just with the boxer – people raised questions about the severity of the punishment. Some even compared the situation with other boxers, where the consequences were not this severe. 

One user seems surprised that even journeymen like Kamil use banned substances. There have been speculations in the boxing community that all top-level fighters use some form of banned substance. However, there is no solid proof behind those rumors. Moreover, numerous high-profile fighters have accused each other of the same allegations over the years.

Another user claimed that Kamil’s case would not receive media attention because he is not a popular fighter. However, it came as a relief for the user when he found out that the drug testing process worked as intended.

Someone else questioned if the popular sports radio station talkSport would discuss the situation for the entire next year. 

The next user did not pull any punches, comparing Kamil’s situation with other big names in the boxing world. The user labeled the ban ridiculous, claiming if Kamil was wealthy, he would not face any consequences.

While the previous user did not mention any names, this user didn’t leave that out either. The user asked for Conor Benn’s ban. It’s important to note that Benn faced a ban after the discovery of clomifene in his system. However, NDPA recently permitted him to fight after he won the case. Also, UKAD and BBBofC appealed the ruling and asked for the reimposition of the ban, per a report from Independent.
