Boxing has turned into the house of cards! What began as Ryan Garcia, simply looking for his next opponent, has now blown way out of proportion. In an update of late, Teofimo Lopez has shown support for famed boxer and Ryan Garcia’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya while warning Rolly Romero with a sparring clip of the two from 2017. The update comes after the WBA super lightweight champion took a dig at De La Hoya.

On January 22, Rolly Romero tweeted that his promoter, Al Haymon, is the real man in charge, not Oscar De La Hoya. This tweet came after negotiations between Ryan Garcia and Romero fell apart, with De La Hoya claiming Romero priced himself out. After the ordeal, Romero took to Instagram and called De La Hoya “Oscar de la Fishnets.” Teofimo Lopez has now emerged as an unlikely ally standing up for De La Hoya.

Teofimo Lopez asks Oscar De La Hoya not to worry

Directly addressing the six-division champion and Hall of Famer, Lopez assured him not to concern himself with Romero. As confident as ever, ‘The Takeover’ conveyed that if need be, he is prepared to fight Romero for him. He even shared a clip of a sparring session between him and Romero from 2017, where it looks like Teofimo is battering a fatigued Romero.

“Don’t worry [Oscar De La Hoya], if it comes to it, I’ll handle this fake champ like I did back in 2017,” wrote Lopez alongside the hashtags ‘#HowDareYouDisrespectTheLegend and #RevengeOnRolly’. Things have surely taken a turn for the strange because not long ago it was Teofimo who was feuding with Golden Boy Promotions over being offered minimal pay to fight Ryan Garcia. Lopez refused the offer, claiming it wasn’t enough.

Since the fallout of his negotiations, Romero has been going after everyone. Here’s what Romero claimed was the reason the fight between him and Garcia fell apart.

Rolly Romero disses everyone

In his tweet, Romero wrote, “F**k Princess Ryan Garcia, F**k Oscar de la Fishnets, and f**k Dazn the shittiest streaming network out there for wasting my time…It’s disgusting to see how you guys do business, then trying to go behind my back offering Pitbull an offer then claiming I out-priced myself. Y’all f**ked up.”

Romero has recently secured a fight with Isaac Cruz, who was one of the opponents being considered for Garcia. While sharing a poster for the fight, Romero wrote, “Now it’s Rolly Vs Pitbull on Amazon Prime, the largest network in boxing history… This fight is an explosion.”
