On July 13, Skye Nicolson faced the Dominican fighter, Dyana Vargas. The first title defense took place on the Jaron EnnisDavid Avanesyan card in Philadelphia. Similarly, the match against Sarah Mahfoud was the first six-figure fight for Skye Nicolson. Reportedly, she netted roughly $100,000. Last year, beginning with the Tania Alvarez fight that helped her secure the vacant WBC silver featherweight, the Australian champion fought four times! So for the whole year, it seems her overall income stood around $175,000.

It’s worth noting, as ‘Sporty Salaries’ pointed out, that for the 2022 fight against Krystina Jacobs that made her a Commonwealth featherweight champion, she reportedly earned $5000. To have come so far where she could be possibly taking home around $400,000 for the Chapman bout is a testament to Skye Nicolson’s remarkable progress and growing success.

For Nicolson, her dream remains the fight against the division’s unified champion, Amanda Serrano. But there’s a good chance that first, she might have to settle with a challenge from the American Tiara Brown. As the Australian champion’s star continues to rise, it’s likely her financial standing will grow to match her increasing prominence in the boxing world.
