Since that fateful night, both fighters have come a long way, facing ups and downs in their respective careers. Caleb Plant went on to win the subsequent battle against Anthony Dirrell but failed to replicate the same against David Benavidez. On the other hand, Canelo lost the subsequent fight against Dmitry Bivol but went on to demolish the next three opponents. Nevertheless, the fight with Canelo was a career-defining moment for Plant. So, his wife turned to X (formerly Twitter), sharing a message for her husband.

The time Caleb Plant dared to be great against Canelo Alvarez

Sharing some snaps from fight night and the fight itself, Hardy put her thoughts on X. She began by emphasizing Caleb’s love for the sport and how he pursued it while trying to be great by fighting Canelo. “2 years ago, today, my husband dared to be great and gave his all for a sport that is his first true love,” wrote Hardy.

She went on to describe her view on Caleb’s passion and drive for the sport. “I respect his passion and drive to want more out of life,” wrote Hardy. She further added that Plant isn’t afraid to come face to face with failure, and he doesn’t pursue fame or popularity. “He isn’t afraid of failure. He isn’t putting on a mask to fit in or get clicks,” wrote Hardy.

Caleb Plant claims he is among the top five pound-for-pound

Pound-for-pound rankings play a key role in highlighting the best in the domain. However, these lists have become a bit saturated in recent years, as seemingly everyone has their own list. Similarly, Plant has his own list of pound-for-pound best fighters based on skills alone. While appearing in a podcast, Plant shared his list.

During the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast, Plant asserted Terence Crawford should be on the list. Moreover, Caleb suggested Canelo Alvarez, Oleksandr Usyk, and Shakur Stevenson should be on the list. Later in the podcast, Caleb claimed he should be on the list as well because he thinks his skills are on the same level. “I gotta be on the list. I know my skills are crazy,” said Plant.
