YouTube sensation Jake Paul will finally get to face his idol and former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva on October 29th. As kids, both Paul brothers were huge fans of ‘The Spider’ even meeting him when he fought in Ohio.

Paul was just 12 years old at the time but managed to take a picture together, reposting it on Instagram ahead of the fight. In his caption, Paul said Silva was the only celebrity he had met before he moved to Los Angeles. ” Anderson was the only celebrity I ever met before moving to LA. He was randomly in Ohio at a local MMA fight and I flirted with the ring card girl (swipe right) who brought us on stage to meet him… life is trippy.” He wrote in the caption.

However, The Problem Child recently revealed a lesser know story during his very first time at an UFC event.

Jake Paul makes a startling revelation

Paul made a startling revelation regarding the time. He stated that this was the first fight he had ever been to, but fell in love by just being a spectator. “It was just electric. I think that was my first fight. I was at and the crowd, you know, just like seeing these guys go in there and fight. I just fell in love with being a spectator of the sport,” said Paul.

Moreover, he added that his dad made him sell t-shirts during the event because they didn’t have money to fully support the family. “My dad was getting me to sell these t-shirts at the time. He didn’t have a lot of money and so he came up with this idea for this t-shirt brand. We were you know, trying to sell them to everybody at the venue.” He added.

The Ohio-based boxer has certainly come a long way from once selling t-shirts at his idol’s fight to now facing him in the ring. Moreover, this showed the resilient nature of Paul, who was willing to do whatever it took to support his family.
