When people think of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, they picture championship titles, superstardom, and wealth. But beyond the glitz and glory lies a compassionate individual – one who stands for others. The super middleweight champion’s charitable contributions are well known. But few realize just how deeply Alvarez involves himself in causes that impact both him and his community in Mexico.

As he prepares for a crucial year in boxing, with an IBF title bout against William Scull in May and a long-anticipated clash with Terence Crawford in September, he has taken a moment to bring attention to a matter far greater than any fight.

In this case, an AMBER Alert seems to have been been activated at the national level in Mexico. According to reports, the then-four-year-old child went missing on June 27, 2023, in the municipality of Zapopan in the state of Jalisco. Now, federal authorities in Mexico have activated a nationwide Amber Alert as of 24 February 2025 to help locate her. And Canelo Alvarez, it seems, is doing his part in helping find the child using his 18.9-million-strong social media following. At the bottom of his Instagram story, a heartfelt message in Spanish read: “Al fin está activa la Alerta Amber a nivel nacional. ¡Te sentimos cada día más cerca, chiquitina!!” It roughly translates to: “Finally, the AMBER Alert is active nationwide. We feel you closer every day, little one!!
