When fans got to know that Mike Tyson, 58, who uses a cane to walk due to sciatica flare-ups, was going to fight Jake Paul, they already knew how it was going to end. Yet the 31-year age gap between the pugilists stoked curiosity; At least enough to attract 72,300 fans to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and 108 million live viewers globally. Yes, that’s big numbers, but was all the pain worth the effort for the veteran boxer?
Even months after the fight, Tyson was not at 100%. Many saw this coming after they got to know that ‘The Problem Child’ connected 78 punches to the veteran’s body, whereas the 58-year-old had only 18 punches connecting to Paul. While Mike Tyson may have lost, he walked out with $20 million in his bank account and some more financial security. In fact, in January 2025, we got to know he splurged on a beautiful $13 million property in the Tierra del Rey Estates.
Now, months after his fight against Paul, people want to know if he intends to come back for one last fight. In fact, in his new interview with ‘Men’s Journal’, he was asked just that. So who could be his next conquest? The name might shock you! Mike Tyson stated:

“The only person I’m fighting now is my accountant. Other than that, I’m just living life and I’m doing good right now.” We wonder what his accountant may have done…
It seems like finance has been Tyson’s greatest nemesis throughout his career, and this also reminds us of the time the boxer teamed up with Donald Trump, who would act as a financial adviser. This was back in 1988. “Mike Tyson has asked me and I have agreed, to serve jointly, with regard to future decisions about Mike Tyson’s career, including but not limited to the lawsuits going back and forth between Mike and his current manager, Bill Cayton,” Trump had revealed back in the day.
Then let us not forget Tyson’s journey from bankruptcy in 2003 to an estimated net worth of $20 million in 2025.

So, if Tyson is done boxing, we can’t really blame him. However, he is not alone in thinking that he has had enough of boxing. Despite a section of fans demanding a rematch against the younger Paul brother, many believe Mike Tyson should stay retired.

Mike Tyson’s return to the ring against Jake Paul was a spectacle that left fans divided, but his son Amir believes it may have been his last. Speaking to Seconds Out in December 2024, Amir said, “I think he’s done… My stepmom, she’s saying he’s done, and they’re a team. That’s husband-and-wife stuff.”

“We know it wasn’t rigged,” Amir said. “He just got tired… His gas tank after the third round was just shot.” Tyson himself admitted to serious health issues leading up to the fight, including losing half his blood and undergoing eight transfusions. While Tyson hinted at another fight, possibly against Logan Paul, the concern from his family and his own words suggest that his fight with Jake Paul may truly have been his final bow.
