It would be fair to say that boxing legend Mike Tyson has an eye for picking out talent when he sees it. The former heavyweight champion was one of the best boxers of his generation and has immense knowledge about the sport and its nuances.

However, Iron Mike might have backed the wrong horse on this occasion. Tyson recently touted Australian lightweight prospect Brock Jarvis to win against Liam Paro. Both fighters headed into the fight with undefeated records, which meant one of their zeros had to go.

Unfortunately for Tyson, Jarvis was the one who lost his undefeated record after he was knocked out by Paro in the first round. The fight started with a few high-tempo opening exchanges. However, things quickly ended after Paro landed a brutal left hand to conclude the card.

Jarvis was knocked out as soon as he landed on the canvas, with the referee wisely abandoning his count and waving off the fight. Thankfully, Jarvis made some recovery moments later and stood in the ring of his own will.

This victory was the biggest in Paro’s career and a dominant display. Moreover, this has made many people wonder if he could contend for championships in the future.

Mike Tyson left unimpressed by Jake Paul’s sparring session

Iron Mike was seemingly unimpressed after watching YouTube sensation Jake Paul sap ahead of his fight against Anderson Silva. In an interview with FightHype, Wild Card gym owner and legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach spoke about Tyson visiting his gym where Paul is training for his match. “Tyson looked at him and left, he saw 30 seconds of him sparring and said, ‘Freddie, can we go down and see the pictures? He knows that’s where the good pictures are. He wasn’t as interested as I was.” Said Roach.

This might be a blessing in disguise for Paul as Jarvis got knocked out after being back by Iron Mike. However, this might be a one-off situation, as Tyson is certainly a boxing savant with an eye for spotting talent.
