Mike Tyson, the former undisputed heavyweight champion, has unveiled another product under his Tyson 2.0 brand. Launched in 2021, this brand has been skyrocketing in popularity, driven by ‘Iron’ Mike himself. Originally focused on cannabis, Tyson 2.0 is now diversifying with this new addition to its lineup.

So, what is Mike Tyson’s latest venture? According to a tweet from talkSport editor Michael Benson, the retired boxer has introduced a “grow your own magic mushrooms kit named Mikeadelics…” Apparently, the 58-year-old has been interested in psychedelics for some time and aims to make it easier for his fans to cultivate psilocybin mushrooms at home.

Maxim reported that the mushroom experts at Advanced Mycology developed the kit. These specialists are using innovative filter strip technology designed to enhance airflow and protect against bacteria and mold during the cultivation process.

Tyson actually used these mushrooms before his 2020 fight with Roy Jones Jr., a match that he arguably won, though officially it was a split-decision draw. And get this—Tyson isn’t ruling out using mushrooms again before his upcoming bout against 27-year-old Jake Paul on November 15th, which will be streamed live on Netflix.

It’s worth mentioning that earlier this year, Mike Tyson experienced an ulcer flare-up during a long flight, and he stated he would need to consult his doctor before using the substance again. Despite this, Tyson mentioned that he typically likes to take them before hitting the gym. But does it really help?

Mike Tyson reveals how to get comfortable with being uncomfortable

During a conversation with Maxim, Tyson said, “Psychedelics changed my whole life”, adding that he would not be boxing right now if it weren’t for the psychedelics. Explaining the altered state of mind the drug induces, Tyson stated, “It makes me comfortable being uncomfortable”. Tyson feels it never made him uncomfortable while challenging him, adding, “You just gotta ride with it until it’s over”.

The former world champion has never been shy about his love for psychedelics, even investing in Wesana Health, a company using psilocybin to treat traumatic brain injuries. It’s worth noting, though, that psilocybin remains illegal at the federal level. Interestingly, the Drug Enforcement Agency has indicated that the spores used to grow mushrooms are legal to purchase and ship.

As of now, Colorado and Oregon are the only states where psilocybin is legalized. However, there’s growing momentum elsewhere due to research showing its potential in treating depression, PTSD, and other mental health issues. Tyson, who launched his new product at the CHAMPS Trade Show on July 24th, is hopeful for nationwide legalization.
