Ahead of the fight for super middleweight supremacy, Hollywood icon Mark Wahlberg met Turki Alalshikh, the man making the big fights happen. And like many, he has only one concern. Later, Alalshikh added intrigue when he revealed a big surprise in store and said it involved Wahlberg.

Wahlberg backs Canelo but frets over Crawford’s weight leap
With the vast Las Vegas landscape behind them, Mark Wahlberg and Turki Alalshikh started chatting about the headliner – Canelo vs. Terence Crawford. To see which side he leaned toward, Alalshikh asked Wahlberg, “You’re with Canelo?” The star of blockbusters like Shooter denied.

“Well no,” he said. “Terence is my friend,” he explained and added, “I’m just a little concerned because he went up a weight class; he didn’t look very good. His last fight they gave him.” Then, mimicking Israil Madrimov’s head movement, Alalshikh recalled how he gave Crawford a tough time last year.
Still, Mark Wahlberg’s thoughts appeared up in the air. “Well, Canelo has also been hit. Listen, I would love to see Canelo win. But I just don’t know if he can,” he remarked. However, like so many, he couldn’t help thanking Alalshikh. The man has successfully turned around the fight everyone wanted to see so badly.
As they shook hands to break off, pointing at Mark Wahlberg, Turki Alalshikh told everyone present, ‘Wait for the surprise. He will do something amazing today.”
A show that keeps fans guessing
It’s a surprise; if fans want to know what it is, then they must wait as the event unfolds. During the final presser, a big surprise came from Dana White as well, though awkwardly. Pushed on by Turki Alalshikh, Dana White finally revealed the awarding of the Performance of the Night and the Fight of the Night honors, including the $100,000 bonus for the fighters on the undercard.
“On the undercard—Canelo and Crawford are going to do just fine—but on the undercard, we’re going to have a Performance of the Night and a Fight of the Night, $100,000 each for the fighters on the undercard. So you can be involved in the performance of the night and the fight of the night and take home $200,000,” the UFC president said.
