Frank Martin is moments away from stepping into the ring against Gervonta Davis, but the question remains: is he truly prepared? Concerns arose during their last weigh-in, where Martin appeared visibly fatigued and dehydrated. However, the situation has taken a positive turn since Martin has since rehydrated and appears to be in better form ahead of the fight.

During the Ryan Garcia fight, the situation was even more dire, with Garcia unable to rehydrate due to contractual restrictions. Fortunately, this wasn’t the case with Martin. Following his rehydration, he appeared in an interview, looking back to his usual self. A user shared snaps from his interview on X moments before the fight.

Will Gervonta Davis’ strategy work?

Turning to X, the user wrote, “Frank Martin has rehydrated; eyes look a little dry but much better than yesterday of course LOL”. However, that wasn’t the case at the weigh-ins. Frank Martin looked visibly depleted on stage so much so that images of him sitting down on a chair before going up on the scales made rounds of the internet. Even his promoter, Errol Spence Jr. had to answer questions regarding this and reassure fans that Frank Martin was fine and the look of being depleted was a normal part of the weight cut.

During the Ryan Garcia fight last year, Garcia was contractually restricted from rehydrating after the fight, which left him severely drained and unable to maximize his power. While Frank Martin didn’t face such restrictions in this fight, his appearance at the weigh-ins certainly raised questions. However, these questions about his readiness were put to rest after Martin’s pre-fight interview in his locker room. Nonetheless, fans had plenty to comment upon, seeing Martin fully rehydrated.

Fan predicts Frank Martin gases out after round 6

Many people are glued to their TV screens awaiting this fight, so the update on Martin brought a sense of relief. However, one viewer expressed concern, noting that they worry that by round 6, Martin might sweat out the water he drank to rehydrate and be susceptible to getting knocked out.

Someone else was bewildered by the stark contrast in Martin’s appearance before and after rehydrating.

Another viewer drew a comparison, noting that Frank Martin resembled Errol Spence Jr. before his fight against Terence Crawford. They voiced concern that Spence Jr. faced a brutal outcome in that match, suggesting that Martin might too face a similar fate.

The next viewer expressed initial worry about Martin after the weigh-ins but acknowledged that Frank Martin looks better now. They emphasized that the Ghost needs to be fully prepared and at the top of his game for the upcoming fight.

One user appeared relieved, noticing that Martin seemed more confident about the upcoming fight. However, the tinge of sarcasm in their comment was evident.

Frank Martin may have rehydrated back to normal before the fight, but whether it will help him defeat Gervonta Davis is yet to be seen. Do you think he can do it?
