Some people think boxing is brutal. But have they ever seen a kickboxing match? In a recent pinch, Thailand’s PTT Petchrungruang took on Iranian kickboxer Shayan Heydari in a THAI FIGHT Kard Chuek Pluak Daeng event. However, things took a turn for the worse when Petchrungruang delivered a brutal uppercut, leaving his opponent with a broken nose.

After absorbing the blow, Heydari tried to continue defending himself from Petchrungruang’s onslaught. However, soon, the Iranian dropped to his knees as medical professionals jumped in the ring to help the fallen fighter. A clip of the horrific punch was shared on social media by Happy Punch, leaving fans with some wild reactions. What’s more, even Mike Tyson’s coach, Rafael Cordeiro, an MMA coaching legend reacted to the clip!

Can’t look at it, can’t look away either

Turning to X (formerly Twitter), Happy Punch shared the clip with a caption reading, “His nose went completely sideways.” Moreover, Petchrungruang was declared the winner of the fight since Heydari could not continue because of his injury. In a statement after the fight, the Thai promotion claimed, “Shayan Heydari has a misshapen nose and can’t continue, unfortunately losing via TKO.”

The Promotion is based out of Bangkok, Thailand, producing fights with collaboration with the tourist board to promote Thai culture and tradition. However, after the clip was shared on social media, it immediately went viral among fight fans everywhere. Here’s what they said!

An unwanted nose job

Given the severity of the injury, it immediately attracted sympathy from the fans. One user described their thoughts about the injury, remarking that the injury looked very painful.

Meanwhile, Rafael Cordeiro, Mike Tyson’s trainer for his upcoming Jake Paul fight, turned to his Instagram account, sharing the clip from the incident. He captioned the post with “No tempo certo!” According to the translation, it means “In the right time.”

Seeing the carnage on Heydari’s face, this user admitted that a nose break was the worst injury that could happen.

Another user asserted that Heydari shouldn’t have left his face wide open for the uppercut. The user also claimed that after taking the shot to the face, Heydari adopted the proper defense.

Another fan joined in to remark on the Iranian fighter’s changed appearance, once the punch had landed.

Someone else labeled the incident as a free-nose job, courtesy of Petchrungruang. However, in all seriousness, Heydari might have to go through a tough surgery to get the damage fixed.
