So, when Davis defeated Martin via an eighth round knockout last weekend, Ellerbe hopped on X to congratulate the entire Davis corner.

Leonard Ellerbe sees a bright future for Gervonta Davis

Earlier today, responding to a tweet from a user, Ellerbe wrote, “HE’S MUST SEE TV!!” adding that Davis will only get bigger and bigger. Going as far as to say that Davis will be one of the biggest athletes in the world, urging people to follow his journey. In fact, Gervonta Davis is already considered to be the face of boxing, and counted among the elites in the sport.

Regardless, Ellerbe proceeded to congratulate Davis’ corner for putting up quite the strategy to beat Martin. He wrote, “Major props to @CoacCalvinFord and Coach Kenny Ellis for a great gameplan Sat night!!  Perfection”. The fight aside, Gervonta Davis, who has shared a close relationship with Ellerbe while they worked together in Mayweather Promotions, expressed his discontent with Ellerbe stepping down, a sentiment he voiced following Floyd’s announcement.

Tank accuses Floyd Mayweather of ruining careers

Mere hours after Richard Schaefer, former Golden Boy Promotions CEO, replaced Ellerbe, Gervonta Davis hopped on his Instagram story, calling Mayweather names and questioning his decision. The feud between Davis and Mayweather is all out in the open—the Baltimore native previously started the rumors that Floyd was being held in Dubai for unpaid dues.

While even Floyd didn’t back down from taking shots at Davis, at one point, even claiming the Martin vs. Davis’ fight was canceled. Regardless, in a clip Mayweather shared shaking hands with Schaefer, Davis wrote, “If you sign with this fraud..he will fu** up ya career…he’s not a good businessman at all.” In response, Mayweather had for the second time claimed the fight between Martin and Davis was canceled to get a rise out of Davis.

With that, it’s safe to say that despite leaving Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe continues to support Gervonta Davis and is betting on his success. Do you agree with Ellerbe?
