On October 12, 2024, the entire boxing world came to a still for 48 minutes as Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol tore each other apart in one of the best fights of the year. While the fight was a barnburner, the aftermath created a lot of stir as Beterbiev broke Bivol’s undefeated streak to become the first undisputed light heavyweight champion via a controversial majority decision.
However, the decision did not take anything away from the duo who gave their all during the 12 rounds. To the delight of the fans, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh announced the rematch on February 22 with the undisputed championship on line. The world is eagerly waiting for this clash, and it looks like UFC commentator Joe Rogan is the same as he shared his excitement with the world.

A few days ago, Rogan sat down with comedian Bryan Callen on his ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast to discuss a variety of things. As the conversation shifted to boxing, the UFC commentator talked about the unreal strength of Artur Beterbiev, referring to his viral sledgehammer workout video. “Did you see Artur Beterbiev who is fighting Dmitry Bivol, he did a hammer workout on a tire where he hit a tire for an hour,” claimed Rogan as Callen stared in disbelief.

Rogan was referring to the video that went viral earlier a few weeks before, featuring the 21-0 swinging a sledgehammer on a tire for an entire hour nonstop. The video garnered attention and disbelief from the fans. However, it once created an aura around the Khasavyurt native which no one else can replicate.

Evidently, the duo’s first fight highly impressed Rogan, leaving him thrilled for the rematch. “That’s February 22nd, I’m f—ing pumped for that fight. Oh yeah, it’s the rematch. I’m very pumped for that fight,” asserted Rogan.

Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol 2: Learning from mistakes
Talking about the fight, Rogan implied that he is excited not only because of Beterbiev but also considers Dmitry Bivol as a legitimate competitor. “Bivol is so goddamn good too,” declared the 57-year-old.
Rogan referred to the 2022 bout when Bivol defeated Canelo Alvarez to inflict a second loss of the latter’s career. According to the commentator, “What he(Bivol) did to Canelo like no one’s ever done that Canelo.” The statement holds truth as the Tokmak native defeated Canelo via a unanimous decision over 12 rounds. He completely dominated the unified super middleweight champion and never let him breathe.
He even took Artur Beterbiev to the deep ends, and it was the first fight that the Russian failed to win via a KO. In the end, it all came down to margins as the undisputed champion took over the final three rounds to tip the scores in his favor.
