YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul is currently on the prowl for his next challenge, and the one name that still keeps surfacing is KSI. However, the pair have repeatedly failed to make the fight happen. The main reason behind this seems to have been the weight difference between the two YouTube boxers.

Previously, KSI’s business partner, Mams Taylor, had come up with a solution, suggesting both parties have to make compromises by coming to 180 lbs. Meanwhile, Paul’s business partner Nakisa Bidarian had claimed ‘The Problem Child’ would cut down to 185 pounds and they will put $100 million into making the fight.

However, Taylor claimed that they only made that offer to avoid the fight because a potential loss to KSI would damage Paul’s career. He also suggested that Paul is more focused on making money through simple fights, rather than facing challenging opponents like KSI. However, Taylor alleged that there’s one exception to this. Taylor said Jake would be open to fighting Canelo Alvarez because losing to Canelo wouldn’t tarnish his chances of facing other simpler opponents. Regardless of what KSI and his team have to say though, Bidarian has named the only condition where Paul would fight the British YouTuber—it’s the condition they have put forward.

“I’m the epitome of his career, and to me, he’s like a side [thing],” Paul said about a potential fight against KSI during a conversation on ‘All the Smoke Fight’. Meanwhile, Bidarian jumped in, stating, “If you look at any list in boxing, most influential, trends, BoxRec, whatever, you want to look at, Jake is in the top 10… And by the way, [Jake is the] fifth most searched athlete in the world [in] 2024, [and] 10th in 2021.”

“KSI is not in the conversation of boxing. So, that’s something that’s a make-good for him at some point,” Bidarian said implying it’s either their condition at 185 lbs or nothing. As for Taylor’s criticism that Jake would fight Canelo at a lower weight but not KSI, Bidarian added, “That’s Canelo, that’s [an] honor to get in the ring with Canelo. And have an opportunity to shock the world.”

This likely means the Paul vs. KSI fight is not happening any time soon, but does this mean the Canelo vs. Paul would happen?

Canelo Alvarez names one condition he would fight Jake Paul

After defeating Mike Tyson last year, Jake Paul set his sights square on Canelo Alvarez. He went as far as to call out the Mexican superstar, stating, “Canelo needs me, so I’m not even going to try and call him out. He knows he wants a payday. So, he knows where the money man is at…” Though Canelo has claimed he is open to fighting Paul, it’s not anytime soon.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Jake Paul avoiding KSI to protect his career, or is it all about the money?

“When I’m done with boxing [at the highest level], why not? Yeah, maybe,” Canelo said in an episode of The Full Send Podcast last year. “I think it’s good cause what happens is other people who never watch boxing, they don’t know anything about boxing, they want to watch Jake Paul because he brings fans from another world.”
