Has Jake Paul bitten off more than he can chew? Earlier this month, ‘The Problem Child’ Paul and Mike Tyson announced that they would fight on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium. The fight will be Netflix’s entry into boxing broadcasting. Meanwhile, the influencer boxer has reacted to one of Tyson’s training clips on social media.

As the fight date draws closer ever so slowly, fans and pundits alike are speculating what will happen when the pair meet in the ring, especially because of the massive age difference. However, the age gap doesn’t seem to be bothering Tyson, whose recent training clip shows him punching a heavy bag without gloves. This might have prompted Paul to reconsider his choices.

Jake Paul short of words?

Turning to Instagram, the Cleveland native shared his reaction with a caption reading, “Well..” Meanwhile, the former ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ channeled his old self as he attacked the heavy bag ferociously in the clip. Seeing the training session unfold before his eyes, Paul had a confused, blank look on his face.

Moreover, Paul has been criticized for taking on much older opponents! And for the most part, the critics are right. Every MMA guy Paul has fought is over the age of forty. And even when he fought boxers, they were on the brink of retirement. The only exception was the Tommy Fury fight, which he lost. Meanwhile, a UFC legend has commented on the Paul vs. Tyson matchup.

Conor McGregor claims, “I don’t understand it”

While a lot of people have voiced their concerns about 57-year-old Mike Tyson facing Jake Paul, Conor McGregor doesn’t seem particularly interested in the matchup. Having dipped his toes into boxing back in 2017 against Floyd Mayweather, he knows what is required to get in the ring. So, when asked about his thoughts on the fight, he gave an unexpected response.

Speaking to Championship Rounds, ‘The Notorious’ stated, “Oh jeez. It’s a bit strange, you know. My interest is low. I don’t know. I don’t understand it. I always root for Mike [Tyson].” It’s also worth mentioning that soon after the fight confirmation, an old clip of Mike Tyson using a cane to walk surfaced online, further escalating the concerns about Mike’s ability to fight.

With that said, if Mike Tyson thinks he can fight at 57, nobody can really stop him. He might not possess the agility of his youth, but he does have a wealth of experience. So, it would be interesting to see what happens on 20 July. Do you think Tyson can win?
