Sebastian Fundora will take on Serhii Bohachuk for the WBC super welterweight title. However, Erickson Lubin isn’t happy about his former rival Fundora getting a title shot despite losing to Brian Mendoza via seventh-round KO. Nevertheless, the question is how can Fundora and Bohachuk fight for the title since Jermell Charlo holds it. 

Not so long ago, boxing writer Dan Rafael revealed on X that the previously announced fight between Fundora and Bohachuk for the WBC interim 154 title will now be for the full version of the title because Charlo was declared a champion in recess. So, Lubin turned to X to express his disappointment with the news.

After discovering the news on X, Lubin highlighted his efforts in the last handful of fights while describing his disappointment. “Knocked Rosario out in a title eliminator, beat Gausha in a ‘final eliminator’ plus the Interim title fight against Fundora all after my Charlo loss to not get 1 shot,” wrote Lubin.

It’s worth mentioning that Fundora hasn’t fought since his loss to Mendoza back in April last year. Meanwhile, Lubin has fought and defeated Jesus Alejandro Ramos Jr, a top-five WBC super welterweight boxer. So, he added, “I’m tired of staying quiet. How tf is this guy fighting for Charlo’s WBC belt after that kind of loss?” What’s more, the fight will feature in the undercard of the Tim Tszyu vs. Keith Thurman fight.

Tim Tszyu vs. Keith Thurman undercard

The event, marked as Amazon Prime Video’s first live pay-per-view event, will feature several intriguing clashes. Besides the main event between Thurman and Tszyu for the latter’s WBO super welterweight title, Rolando Romero will take on Isaac Cruz for the former’s WBA junior welterweight title. 

Moreover, Erislandy Lara will go toe to toe with Michael Zerafa for Lara’s WBA middleweight title. And, of course, the Fundora vs. Bohachuk fight for the vacant WBC super welterweight title. The fight will unfold at the popular T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, on 30 March. Moreover, the fight will mark Thurman’s return to the ring after two years of hiatus.
